Talkin Tarn Country Park

Attraction | Brampton | Angleterre | Royaume Uni

Absolutely love Talkin Tarn Park. we enjoyed a lovely latte in the friendly càfe. Shame the bigger cafe isn't open anymore. More indoor seating and space would be better.

It is a fabulous place to walk and enjoy the tranquillity of nature. On-site car park, charging is between 10:00-18:00, £1.20 for an hour and £2.40 for all day. You can pay by cash, or app. There is a cafe and toilets open from 10:00-16:00. Accessible parking is free for 3 hours behind the cafe, entrance at the bottom of the car park. There's an accessible toilet that requires a Radar key. There are plenty of options for walking/running, including an accessible route around the Tarn. It's popular for dog walking. Numerous benches are located around the Tarn for you to absorb the sights and sounds. A lot of activities are organised here throughout the year from water sports to park run, astronomy to orienteering with numerous others at the education centre. There's a bird hide and a few sculptures to explore, too.

We go to Talkin Tarn every autumn/winter ( no midges) for a walk around the lake . It's an easy well laid path ( approx 20 mins to just walk round , but who does that ?) , with light forestry and plenty of wildlife . A lovely little cafe for your refreshments , boating available if that's your thing . All in all, excellent stroll after a big lunch or walking the pooch or the little one's, or to just get out the house for an hr .

A really good place to visit and get some fresh air and lovely views. Dog friendly and a great café. Open all year around and even on Christmas Day people come out with their dogs and get a breather from the mayhem of the festive season.

If you want a lovely circular walk in beautiful surroundings with loads of wildlife such as birds, squirrels, deer and swans this is the place. It is a level walk which is wheelchair accessible and has an excellent tearoom, childrens play park and public toilets.

Followed part of the trail through the woods, which is a pleasant alternative to a walk around the lake. However, on returning back to the car park, I noticed the lack of bins. As this is a busy place, I only found a couple of bins by the middle pay machines, nothing near the disabled parking bays.
